Newark’s response is as follows:

Please be advised that we are in the process of implementing a new CIS policy to complete, on a post audit basis, I-485 applications that have been held with a pending FBI name check in excess of 180 days. We ask that you allow this office until Monday, April 7th, to complete or commence action on these cases before making further inquiry. Be advised that that action may include, approval, denial, a request for evidence or re-fingerprinting (if fingerprint checks have expired), or re-interview as appropriate. Your patience and cooperation is requested?
