CELLA & ASSOCIATES PREVAILS ON MOTION TO REOPEN REMOVAL ORDER

JUDGE GRANTS CELLA & ASSOCIATES’ MOTION TO REOPEN 2001 REMOVAL ORDER

NOVEMBER 14, 2012 CHICAGO, ILLINOIS:

Cella & Associates is proud to announce that a Motion to Re-Open a 2001 In Absentia Removal Order was granted by an Immigration Judge Chicago Immigration Court. A client had an outstanding Removal Order from 2001, meaning that at any point since 2001, she could have been taken into custody by ICE and immediately deported to her home country of Pakistan. However, through our Motion to Reopen In Absentia, the Immigration Judge rescinded the Removal Order and the client is now on her way to obtaining lawful permanent residence through an immediate relative petition filed by her recently-naturalized son.

This Pakistani grandmother will soon be able to visit Pakistan and reunite with her family members, none of whom she has seen in over ten years.

The Motion to Reopen was adjudicated in less than one month from the date of filing.
