The Department of Homeland Security has created a plan which will allow for deportation protection and provide for work permits for up to 18 months for those who qualify.Approximately 75,000 Ukrainians are currently living in the U.S., many on work or student visas which may lapse during the conflict in the Ukraine. The order is designed to give them deportation protection. Ukrainians who are in the United States without legal permission may also qualify.
