The Biden administration on Thursday announced it will make 35,000 additional seasonal worker visas available for U.S. companies to hire foreign workers for summer positions. The visa program, known as the H-2B visa program, allows American companies to hire foreign workers for seasonal positions in hospitality, tourism or gardening fields. Secretary of National Security, Alejandro N. Mayorkas, claimed that additional visas will help U.S. companies that need workers for the summer due to current demand in the labor market. Of the 35,000 additional visas, 23,500 will be available for workers returning from the last three years and 11,500 will be reserved for people from Haiti, Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador.
