The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have issued a notice regarding the extension and redesignation of Cameroon for Temporary Protected Status (TPS). The Secretary of Homeland Security has extended the TPS designation for Cameroon for 18 months, starting from December 8, 2023, and ending on June 7, 2025. This extension allows existing TPS beneficiaries to maintain their TPS status until June 7, 2025, provided they meet the eligibility requirements and re-register within the 60-day re-registration period.
Additionally, Cameroon has been redesignated for TPS, allowing new Cameroonian nationals or individuals with no nationality who last resided in Cameroon and have been continuously living in the United States since October 5, 2023, to apply for TPS. First-time applicants must also show continuous physical presence in the United States since December 8, 2023, which is the effective date of the redesignation.
