Released by US Embassy in Lebanon
The U.S. continues to assist U.S. citizens in Lebanon, resuming full immigrant visa processing at Embassy Beirut for Lebanese family members of U.S. citizens. Routine nonimmigrant visa processing is currently unavailable in Beirut; individuals can apply at any U.S. embassy or consulate.
Immigrant Visas
Full immigrant visa processing has resumed for spouses, children under 21, and parents of U.S. citizens. The National Visa Center (NVC) will notify petitioners and beneficiaries with interview dates. Immigrant visa cases will follow the final action date in the Visa Bulletin. Embassy Beirut will schedule eligible family preference and K-1 visa interviews in November/December.
To transfer a case, contact NVC via the Public Inquiry Form, including the desired embassy and preferred appointment date. Applicants are responsible for their own travel and visa requirements for the new embassy.
For inquiries, contact the Visa Navigator at lb.usembassy.gov/visa-navigator/ or email BeirutIV@state.gov.
Filing an Immigrant Visa Petition
Petitioners in the U.S. can file online with USCIS for quicker processing. Those abroad may file at a U.S. embassy or consulate for eligible family members.
Nonimmigrant Visas
Routine processing is not available in Beirut. You may apply at another U.S. embassy or consulate, following their specific instructions. Pending applications cannot be transferred; you must reapply.
