The first step, following the April 2022 US commitment to Ukrainians fleeing Ukraine, in obtaining the pathway to a two year parole, is obtaining a US supporter who agrees to provide financial support during the stay. The US based supporter must file a Form I-134, Declaration of Financial Support with the USCIS. The supporter is then vetted by the US government who determines that the supporter is actually able to support the immigrant. If approved, the process continues with the immigrant providing biographic information as required. If more information is need, the applicant will be advised and he/she can file a new application with the requested information.
