U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is opening a new international field office in Quito, Ecuador, on September 10, 2024. This office will enhance refugee processing and family reunification efforts, aligning with USCIS’s commitments under the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program. Located in the U.S. Embassy in Quito, the office will support the resettlement of refugees from the Americas, in line with the June 2022 Los Angeles Declaration on Migration and Protection. The fiscal year 2024 target for Latin America and the Caribbean is 35,000-50,000 refugee admissions. The office will also handle family reunification cases, including processing Form I-730 and performing fraud detection. Services will be available by appointment only, with further details to be updated on the USCIS International Immigration Offices webpage. The Quito Field Office will be USCIS’s 12th international office.
